Ex-WWE Commentator Shoots On "Overwhelming" Experience
Working for Vince McMahon on WWE Raw was a whirlwind for this former announcer.
Ex-WWE Raw announcer Adnan Virk has called working on the flagship "such an overwhelming experience".
Virk only lasted a short time in his role as Raw's play-by-play man - he debuted on the 12 April 2021 episode, but was gone by 25 May. WWE replaced Virk with Jimmy Smith, but he's been released too. Since then, former backstage anchor Kevin Patrick has taken the hot seat alongside Corey Graves.
Patrick actually had some sympathy for Adnan during his short stay in the company. He approached Virk behind the scenes and said he should steer clear of Twitter following broadcasts if he didn't want to be depressed by loads of negative comments.
Kev probably has to do the same these days.
Adnan described Vince McMahon as "very cordial" and "respectful" to him during an interview with the 'Sports Media' podcast. The then-WWE boss was "very blunt/very direct" during backstage conversations, but he never tried to intimidate Virk or make him feel unwelcome in the promotion.
In fact, Adnan got the sense that Vince was just one seriously busy man but still wanted to see him succeed. He appreciated the forthrightness of his gaffer anyway.
