Ex-WWE Star Great Khali Accused Of Slapping Toll Worker After Alleged Racist Comments
Video footage shows The Great Khali in heated dispute with Ludhiana, India toll workers.
The Great Khali has been accused of slapping somebody following a heated dispute between the former WWE giant and toll workers in Ludhiana, Punjab, India.
A video showing part of the dispute has been uploaded by The Tribune. While the footage doesn't show Khali slapping anybody, the outlet's translation features one of the workers asking why Khali had slapped him after asking for proof of identification. When the ID card request was repeated, Khali accused those working at the toll plaza of attempting to blackmail him, which they denied.
Police intervention was required when a barrier was put out to prevent Khali's vehicle from leaving. Despite this, no report has been filed.
Khali has since issued a statement on the matter, doing so via Instagram. He alleges that one of the workers used racist terms after he had turned down the person's request for a selfie:-
"Hello Friends. Yesterday while going to karnal, toll tax employee of Phillaur stopped my car and misbehaved for selfie. When I denied selfie, he ruthlessly passed racist comments also used bad words. That's all I want to say. Thank you."
Khali, 49, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021, having last appeared for the promotion at 2018's Great Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
