Ex-WWE Star Says Iconic Stable Got "Bastardised"
This WWE Hall Of Famer believes a famous faction got ruined by creative.
WWE Hall Of Famer and former D-Generation X member Road Dogg believes rival stable the nWo was totally ruined by adding too many members.
Dogg told Chris Van Vliet's 'Insight' show that WCW higher-ups "bastardised" the New World Order by "adding people every chance they got". That, he says, was detrimental to the faction's appeal and ended up diluting its importance to shows like Nitro, Thunder and WCW pay-per-views.
It's hard to argue with that.
WCW bolstered the ranks of the nWo fairly quickly, then decided to split the stable into multiple groups on TV. Hollywood Hogan had his nWo 'Black & White' gang, and Kevin Nash later headed up the red and black-themed 'Wolfpac'.
Meanwhile, over on WWF programming, Road Dogg was riding high as part of the much more tightly-focused DX. He admitted to Van Vliet that he's obviously biased, but the former Roadie reckons his group had much clearer creative direction than their rivals.
The only major shift to D-Generation X was the departure of Shawn Michaels in 1998 and the additions of Dogg, Billy Gunn and X-Pac that same year. They had a bit more stability than the nWo.
