Ex-WWE Star Sunny Suspected Of DUI In Fatal Car Crash
WWE Hall of Famer Tammy Sytch allegedly caused car wreck that led to death of a 75-year-old man.
WWE Hall of Famer Tammy 'Sunny' Sytch is alleged to have caused a March car crash that led to the death of a 75-year-old man, with police suspecting the Attitude Era star was driving while under the influence at the time.
TMZ Sports have obtained documents from the Ormond Beach Police Department in Florida stating that the incident occurred at approximately 8:28 PM on 25 March. Sytch, per the accounts, drove her 2012 Mercedes into the rear of a 2013 Kia Sorrento that was stationary at a stoplight, with the Kia then crashing into a 2011 GMC Yukon, which was also stopped at the light.
The Kia driver was transported to a local hospital for injuries suffered in the crash and later passed away. Sytch, too, was taken to hospital with unknown injuries, though the Yukon driver was not, despite complaining of neck, back, side, and head pain.
Two witnesses claimed Sytch was "driving at a high rate of speed" before colliding with the Kia. Police believe that she was under the influence of alcohol, though the results of a blood test taken at the time haven't been revealed yet.
A police spokesperson issued the following statement to TMZ Sports:-
"OBPD has requested an expedited timeframe on the processing of these samples, and the results will be made available as soon as the department receives them."
Sunny has encountered various legal issues since being arrested five times within four weeks in 2012. A sixth arrest the following January led to her spending 114 days in prison.
She has, unfortunately, been arrested for multiple DUIs, including thrice between May and June 2015. Her latest arrest came in January 2022, when she was booked for eleven charges including DUI and unlawfully possessing a weapon, facing an 11-year prison stint if convicted.
