Ex-WWE Star's Wrestling Return CANCELLED Within 2 Hours
An independent promoter has scrapped this former WWE star's wrestling comeback.
A New Jersey-based independent promoter abolished plans to book ex-WWE star Velveteen Dream within two hours of making the announcement.
SWF founder/owner Rob Fury had previously announced that Dream would be appearing on the group's 'Home Sweet Home' event on 11 September. Later, Fury posted another update to inform fans that the former NXT man had been pulled from the card.
Below is Fury's full tweet:
"Tonight, we announced Velveteen Dream would be appearing at our 'Home Sweet Home' event. I believe any man can be slandered and have been through other situations in my life, unrelated but untrue. After careful consideration, Dream has been removed".
The gig would've been Velveteen's first since being released by WWE in May 2021 - his last match actually happened five months or so before that on the 23 December 2020 edition of NXT. There, he lost to rival Adam Cole in approx 13 minutes.
Dream's red hot rise through WWE came to a grinding halt amidst grim sexual assault allegations. He was, at one time, considered a surefire future World Champion. Those days are very much over for him.
