Federacion Wrestling Collapses After Andrade El Idolo Pulls Out Of Show
Andrade, Dragon Lee, Rush, the Lucha Brothers, and others were set to appear before cancellation.
Federacion Wrestling has effectively collapsed before holding its first event.
The promotion was supposed to debut with a stacked lineup featuring wrestlers from AEW, ROH, CMLL, and elsewhere this Saturday (19 June), but has now issued a press release confirming the event's cancellation. Ticket refunds are currently being offered, with those who pre-purchased the pay-per-view encouraged to claim via PayPal.
In an update, Federacion Wrestling stated that the show was "rescheduled," not cancellation, though pay-per-view provider CoinAccess has severed ties with the group.
AEW's Andrade El Idolo became the first wrestler to pull out of the event yesterday, stating he wouldn't appear after failing to reach a "good agreement" with the promotion. Rush, Kenny Omega, and Bestia Del Ring of ROH followed, with Rush citing "logistical issues."
Tay Conti, Penta El Zero Miedo, Rey Fenix, Red Velvet, Matt Taven, and the Briscoe Brothers were amongst the other wrestlers advertised for the show.
Federacion Wrestling had been shrouded in mystery from day one. While its ownership was never disclosed, it was rumoured that former CMLL boss Sofia Alonso was running the show, with the promotion reportedly offering big-money contracts to AAA and CMLL talent. Rush had also been linked to a leadership role, but perhaps not anymore.
