Ricochet has beaten Johnny Gargano to become the first ever WWE Speed champion. The company crafted a brand new title belt for the occasion, and Rico even got the finger-pointing treatment from boss Triple H backstage afterwards.

WWE has already put plans in place to determine a challenger for Ricochet's prize. Another mini social media tourney will begin on Wednesday - Ivar vs. Apollo Crews and Tyler Bate vs. Berto (Humberto Carrillo for anyone who hasn't kept up with name changes/tweaks) will be the semi final bouts. The winners of those matches will then collide to see who gets to wrestle Rico.

Triple H put Ricochet over on X by saying: "Nobody defines speed" like he does. It's unclear whether or not WWE will bring the Speed Title to mainline TV eventually, or if they'll manage to keep it to socials. It's a lower-tier championship for sure, but one that nonetheless suits Ricochet's high-flying style.

Good on him for making the most of it. However, some fans did drop comments beneath Hunter's post saying it'd be nice to see the new champ on Raw a little more often.
