Finn Balor will put his NXT Championship on the line against Karrion Kross at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, which goes down on 7 and 8 April.

This was booked on last night's NXT show. Kross and Balor opened the night with an in-ring confrontation after going face-to-face last week, with the challenger staking a claim based on him never truly losing the NXT Championship, as injury forced him to relinquish the belt last August.

Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch interrupted, leading, eventually, to the duo putting their NXT Tag Team Titles on the line against Balor and Kross in the main event. The odd couple partnership was defeated when Kross destroyed Balor after Finn had accidentally dropkicked Burch into Scarlett. With Karrion complicit in his team's demise, Lorcan pinned Finn for the win.

Kross continued the assault after the bell, laying Balor out with Saito suplexes and a sleeper, with him and Scarlett standing over Balor to close the show. Now, the match is official.

Kross vacating the NXT Title came just four days after he'd won it from Keith Lee. Balor became the next champion by beating Adam Cole for the strap in September and is currently 191 days into his second reign.
