Kris Statlander is the 'Galaxy's Greatest Alien' no more, it seems.

The former AEW Women's World Championship contender ostensibly debuted a new gimmick on last night's episode of Dark: Elevation. Hitting the ring for a squash victory over Ashley D'Amboise, Statlander was soundtracked by a new theme, ran through a new walk-down routine, and was decked out in black, grey, and silver attire.

On top of this, she was introduced as hailing from Long Island, New York, not The Andromeda Galaxy, which had been her "hometown" while working the alien gimmick.

Statlander put D'Amboise away in under two minutes. Adopting a more focused, ruthless demeanour, there was no sign of the nose-booping of old, with Kris putting her opponent away quickly and efficiently, her offense highlighted by a long delayed vertical suplex.

This has all been in the work for a few weeks. On Dynamite's 16 March episode, Statlander was seen looking in a mirror, reflecting on recent failures while wiping her signature face paint away. Later, she appeared on Rampage dressed all in black, though it wasn't until Dark: Elevation that she fully transformed.

Revolution 2022 hosted Statlander's last major match (a defeat to Leyla Hirsch) on 6 March.
