Generally, when you're bringing new superstars up to the main roster, you ideally would want to introduce them to fans with a video package and then give them a spotlight match to let them showcase what they can do.

But ideally, you wouldn't to both of those things on the same night... and then have the debuting wrestlers lose.

But that's what happened to Kayden Carter & Katana Chance, who made their Raw debuts Monday night, losing to WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler in a pretty decent, competitive little match.

Earlier in the show, WWE aired a video highlighting KC-Squared, as they talked about how people underestimate them because they're undersized underdogs who like to party, but they talked about their success in NXT and before wrestling to show their competitive spirit. So far, so good.

Shortly after, Rousey & Baszler were lamenting the state of the women's tag division when Carter & Chance walked up and accepted an opportunity to face them - right then and there. The match itself was fine, but it also was doomed to fail - either the new tag champs lose, or the debuting former NXT Women's Tag Team Champions lose. WWE went with the latter.

There's always the possibility that WWE could track Carter & Chance's journey to get back into the title picture, but we're talking about a non-existent tag division where they were one of the very few established teams, so they'd presumably have to beat a bunch of makeshift tandems for that to work. Still, there's an angle there if WWE wants to take this and make a positive out of it.
