Former ROH Champion Becomes Free Agent
This former ROH World Champion's contractual obligations have come to an end.
Dalton Castle is no longer under Ring of Honor contract.
While there is currently no word on when the former ROH World Champion's formal relationship with the promotion ended, PWInsider's Mike Johnson reports that Castle is 100% a free agent.
The 36-year-old has nonetheless made several ROH appearances since Tony Khan's purchase of the company was announced in March. Wrestling on both April's Supercard of Honor and July's Death Before Dishonor, Castle has also wrestled at AEW Battle of the Belts II, falling to Jonathan Gresham in an ROH World Championship match.
Despite being a free agent, Dalton is a current ROH title-holder. He and The Boys defeated The Righteous to become ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions at Death Before Dishonor.
Castle started making ROH appearances in May 2013, though he didn't become a regular with the promotion until 2015. He started gaining serious traction and popularity with his 'Party Peacock' gimmick, peaking when he became ROH World Champion in December 2017, defeating Cody Rhodes. A six-month reign followed, with Castle eventually dropping the strap to Jay Lethal in a match also featuring Rhodes and Matt Taven in mid-2018.
