Former SmackDown, NXT Star Confirms WWE Departure (WWE News)
Ashante "Thee" Adonis has left the building.
Ashante 'Thee' Adonis has left WWE, as was revealed by the man himself on X. Expressing his gratitude for the "opportunity, the lessons, and the experience", Adonis - who will presumably go by Tehuti Miles, if his rebranded account is any indication - is now taking bookings. While Miles did not elaborate on the nature of his exit, Fightful Select followed up to confirm that he was not released; his contract recently expired, and WWE opted not to renew it.
He was last seen in an NXT ring losing to Ricky Saints on June 24.
This is not the first occasion on which Miles has been let go by WWE; before being quickly rehired under the Paul Levesque regime, Miles - alongside fellow Hit Row members Swerve Strickland, Top Dolla and B-Fab - was released on November 18, 2021.
Opinion - Miles' Next Destination
Look, it's probably TNA, let's face it.
AJ Francis, for better or worse, is a guy who can get himself headlines for himself and his promotion. A Hit Row (or HitMakerZ) reunion is far from the worst thing TNA could do, since there's a sentiment amongst some fans that the stable was never allowed to fully realise its potential. (Quite how far they can go without top AEW talent Strickland is a very fair question).
Miles last portrayed a horned-up pest in NXT, culminating in a terrible, anticlimactic romance angle with Karmen Petrovic, which was abandoned quickly. He showed decent heel charisma in a role let down by abysmal plotting. Adonisly?
He is far better suited to a more wacky sports entertainment setting than, say, Ring of Honor.
