The dream of nearly everyone who becomes a professional wrestler is to one day compete for the WWE. For better or worse, the WWE represents the mecca of sports entertainment, and no matter what success a wrestler may have elsewhere, it can be argued that they never truly make it until they step foot in the WWE. That sentiment seems to be shared by a former TNA World Champion. Chris Sabin, who officially parted ways with TNA on May 9th of this year, has expressed a desire to join the WWE. While being interviewed on the Shining Wizards podcast, Sabin stated that his goal is to be signed by WWE, as it has been for this entire life. Sabin is only 32 years old, so he presumably has plenty of time left in his career. In the past, WWE had shied away from older, more experienced superstars, but Sabin may have a chance if the recent signings of Kevin Steen, Prince Devitt, and Kenta are indication. A former TNA Triple Crown Champion -- holding the World title, X-Division title, and tag team belts -- Sabin has been competing for 14 years, over ten of which were spent with TNA Wrestling. In his time with TNA, Sabin went from being just another X-Division guy to becoming a member of one of the companys most dominant tag teams -- the Motor City Machine Guns -- to eventually becoming the TNA World Champion. Sabin has seen success elsewhere, as well. After only 3 years in the business, he competed at ECWAs prestigious Super 8 tournament. Hes made appearances for Ring of Honor throughout the years, and hes traveled to Japan for both Zero1 and New Japan. By all accounts, Chris Sabin is very accomplished professional wrestler. While Sabin has a definite interest and desire to make it to the WWE, its unclear as to whether the company has any interest in him. At the risk of sounding a bit crass, WWE may have already hit their quota for indie and international stars for the time being. Furthermore, the company is likely not looking to hire many more stars at this time due to the recent (and potentially ongoing) budget cuts. Chris Sabin, however, has proved his determination in the past. Will he be able to one day achieve his dream of competing for the WWE? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
