Former WWE Champion "On The Retired Bench For Life"
Don't expect this Hall of Famer to mount a WWE comeback any time soon...
While Nikki Bella claims she would love to return to a wrestling ring someday, her medical situation makes that impossible.
The former WWE Divas Champion said as much during a recent appearance on the Sippin' the Tea show. Interviewed alongside twin sister Brie, Nikki claimed that while she'd like for her son to see her wrestling someday, her doctors have forbidden it (h/t Metro):-
‘"I would love one day, like when Matteo’s maybe three, and he knows it, to have my son be ringside while his mom kicks ass. That would be amazing to me. But because he is my everything, I have to listen to the doctors and as of now, they’ve put me on the retired bench for life."
Nikki continued, outlining the steps she'd have to go through for a comeback:-
"So, it would take a lot of scans, x-rays, and all this different stuff for them to actually approve me to have a run and so that would be unlikely – that will be years down the road."
The 37-year-old retired from professional wrestling in Jun 2019, announcing on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show that due to doctors finding a cyst on her brain, she was done. Nikki also has a long history of neck injuries to contend with, having sat out for 10 months between October 2015 and August 2016 and undergone surgery to have metal inserted in hope of correcting these issues.
Bella's last televised match came at WWE Evolution in October 2018, where she faced Ronda Rousey.
