Former WWE NXT Wrestler Debuts In AEW Women's Tag Team Tournament
The second-generation star entered a losing effort, sadly.
Former WWE NXT wrestler Rachael Ellering debuted for All Elite Wrestling as part of the promotion's ongoing Deadly Draw Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament last night.
Ellering was reunited with ex-WWE interviewer Dasha Gonzalez on the show, teaming with her to face Ivelisse and Diamante in the first round. It was a losing effort for the old Stamford pairing, however, as Ivelisse pinned Gonzalez after Ellering had been taken out by Diamante.
This was Ellering's first documented wrestling match since July 2019, when she tore her ACL while wrestling Lacey Evans on an NXT house show. She was let go by WWE as part of their Black Wednesday cuts on 15 April, though her departure wasn't confirmed until May, and she's also set to wrestler Penelope Ford on tonight's AEW Dark.
Rachael, 27, is the daughter of legendary Road Warriors manager Paul Ellering, and had been in and out of the WWE system since April 2016.
Long-time indie standout Nicole Savoy also debuted in the Deadly Draw last night. Rechristened Lil' Swole, she teamed with Big Swole to defeat Leva Bates and Rache Chanel, advancing to the next round in the process.
