As per Mike Johnson over at PWInsider.com, Garland served as a "Coach/Producer" at this week's Dynamite, which emanated from Albany, New York. This reports notes that the 50-year-old is expected to serve in a similar role for the next several weeks as part of a tryout for a permanent gig with All Elite Wrestling.

With a pro wrestling career which dates back to 1989, Scott's most notable success came during several spells with WWE between 1997 and through until 2021. Having previously served as an enhancement talent for the then-WWF, Garland - as Scott Taylor - was formally signed to the market leader in '97 and became a part of the promotion's burgeoning Light Heavyweight division.

By the time WrestleMania XIV rolled around the following year, Taylor was paired up with Brian Christopher as Too Much, which in 1999 was rebranded as Too Cool and soon added Rikishi to its ranks. As Too Cool, that trio became one of the hottest acts in the entire company for a short spell.

While Christopher was fired in 2001, Scotty remained with WWE through until 2007, with that initial run with the promotion seeing him hold the Light Heavyweight Title and become a two-time Tag Team Champion. The Maine native would make sporadic appearances for WWE over the following years, before fully re-joining the promotion in 2016 to serve as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center.

Garland quit WWE in 2021, citing at the time how he didn't want to just be doing a job for a paycheck. In terms of in-ring, Scotty has continued to compete on the independent scene, with his most recent bout coming earlier this month against Shreddy for Newcastle's NORTH Wrestling.
