Brian Myers answered Impact Wrestling World Champion Eddie Edwards' challenge in his return to the promotion last night, pushing the incumbent title-holder close in a losing effort.

The night's main event segment saw Edwards throw down the gauntlet to Eric Young, who returned to Impact at Slammiversary (18 July), the same night Eddie regained the Impact Title. Myers emerged in Young's place. Now calling himself 'The Most Professional Wrestler,' he promised to defeat Edwards before pushing the former American Wolf close, eventually falling to the BKP as Eddie retained.

Myers' Impact return came on the back of a series of comeback vignettes that commenced on 21 July. He had briefly worked for the promotion in 2015, holding its Tag Team Titles alongside Trevor Lee (WWE's Cameron Grimes), winning them from (and subsequently losing them back to) Edwards and former partner Davey Richards.

The wrestler once known as Curt Hawkins was let go by WWE as part of the company's mass Black Wednesday releases on 15 April. He joins the likes of Young, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Deonna Purrazzo, and more in inking with Impact after being cut by the sport's biggest promotion.
