Global Force Wrestling announced on Monday that they have signed Nick Aldis to their promotion after his six year run in TNA came to an end following their Slammiversary PPV event. The deal means that Aldis will be part of their next GFW Grand Slam Tour live events on July 9 in Wisconsin, July 10 in Pennsylvania, and July 11 in Ohio. He will also be headlining the first ever world television taping on July 24th in Las Vegas. No TV deals announced for GFW, but those announcements may happen soon. In a press release sent out by GFW, Aldis talked about what this means for his career: €œI€™m ready to explore opportunities as a free agent that haven€™t been open to me before. Jeff Jarrett has been instrumental in my career development and I have always respected him as a performer and promoter. As soon as I heard about GFW I knew that one way or another I would play a part. I€™m very excited about that.€ He also sent out a tweet noting that he's officially a free agent as of Tuesday. https://twitter.com/MagnusOfficial/status/615586048702222336 It should also be noted that Aldis' fiancee Mickie James has been linked to GFW as well, as reported by Dave Meltzer over the weekend. There hasn't been an official press release about her involvement yet. Both Aldis and James have taped segments for TNA Wrestling shows that will air in the month of July.
Following Jeff Jarrett's victory in the main event of Slammiversary that resulted in him winning the King of the Mountain Title, there are all kinds of rumours about GFW working with TNA in some capacity in the future, so Aldis could have a role in that storyline too.
