Global Force Wrestling, the new promotion that is being launched by Jeff Jarrett, is looking for a TV channel to broadcast their shows. According to reports in the latest Wrestling Observer, the company has had discussions with a number of television networks including Spike, WGN, Fox Sports 2 and CMT. Of those four, Spike would be the best option because they have had WWE, TNA and ECW shows on their network over the past two decades. Apparently they aren't actively seeking a wrestling show right now, but if they are then GFW will do their best to land with them. GFW's plan for now is to tape between 12-14 one hour TV shows during three taping dates in Las Vegas with the first one taking place in July, the second in August and the third one in October. Prior to that, they are doing some live events in baseball parks as well. While GFW has announced a roster full of some former WWE and TNA stars, they lack really big names that would be seen as major draws. They have the likes of the former Chris Masters, former Justin Gabriel and Doc Gallows among others, but they don't have anybody that would be considered a huge draw. That's why they are looking to add some star power in terms of their announcers. With former UFC star and lifelong wrestling fan Chael Sonnen already in the mix as an announcer, the hope is they can add his good friend Jim Ross too. The two have broadcasted a MMA show before and Ross has noted that they had a lot of fun doing it. While Ross has some ties to WWE since they still sell his BBQ sauce on their website among other things, he is a free agent. If GFW can afford him then that's who they want. Remember that it was Ross, along with Matt Striker, that called GFW's presentation of a huge New Japan Wrestle Kingdom 9 event back in January, so he has worked with Jarrett recently. Ross has also been linked to Lucha Underground for their second season, but that may not happen due to financial reasons and scheduling issues. Ross is pretty active on his blog as well as Twitter and he talks openly about a lot of different wrestling promotions because he's still a big fan of the business after all these years. The big thing for GFW is that TV deal. It may be tough for them to find a network that will broadcast their shows considering they have no TV shows for the networks to sample at this point, but Jarrett has a long history in the wrestling business and may get something done soon.
