Was Gunther supposed to LOSE the Intercontinental Championship to Jey Uso on last night's Monday Night Raw?

Astonishingly, maybe.

Per the typically reliable WrestleVotes, there were feelers out for some time that the plan was for 'Main Event' Jey Uso to see through his plan to win a singles title and, in the process, end Gunther's historic Intercontinental Championship reign.

Less than an hour after the show concluded, the account posted the following on X;

"Hearing an interesting story we hope to follow up on with more tomorrow… source states there were multiple people within the company under the impression Jey Uso was winning the IC title tonight on RAW. I’m told that as late as 6pm, this was the direction on various show rundowns within the creative and digital departments."

Obviously any story involving Uso winning didn't materialise, suggesting that either there was a massive change to plans backstage or speculatively that alternate arrangements had been made with a view of seeing if the information escaped the locker room and into the public domain. The account hasn't followed up as implied above, but there could be more to break on this, the statuses of both 'Der Ring General' and 'Main Event' as the Road To WrestleMania continues through Saturday's Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event.
