Hangman Page returned to AEW television last night, finally punching his ticket for an AEW World Title shot in the process.

Page was the mystery Joker in Dynamite's Casino Ladder Match. Jon Moxley, Lance Archer, Matt Hardy, Orange Cassidy, PAC, and Andrade El Idolo had already entered as the first six competitors, battling as a poker chip guaranteeing title contendership hung over the ring. Hangman came out last, drawing an immense response from the Philadelphia crowd, and proceeded to take the win after cleaning house.

The audience's gratification was delayed just long enough for the win to resonate as strongly as possible, with Page knocking Moxley from the top of the ladder before scoring the chip. Now, finally, he has a guaranteed shot at Kenny Omega's World Title.

Page had been away from AEW television since 4 August. Originally pegged to face Omega at All Out on 5 September, the 30-year-old took time off ahead of the birth of his first child, having missed out on the opportunity to challenge in Chicago after he and The Dark Order lost a 10-man contendership tag match one week prior to Page's write-off.

Hangman fought Chris Jericho in AEW's first ever World Title match, falling to the veteran at All Out 2019.
