Hardy Boyz To Vacate SmackDown Tag Team Details Through Injury?
A big decision will be made on Jeff Hardy's injury soon.
Jeff Hardy was struck down by injury at WWE's 20 April house show in Madison, Wisconsin, suffering an undisclosed leg issue as he and brother Matt retained their SmackDown Tag Team Championships against The Usos.
The 41-year-old accompanied Matt for his singles victory over Jimmy Uso the following night, but didn't get physical, and was apparently walking with a limp. The Hardy Boyz haven't appeared on television since, with the severity of Jeff's injury still to be disclosed.
It looks like WWE plan on making a decision on what will happen with the Hardy's Tag Title reign later this week. Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there are two potential outcomes emanating from people close to the situation: one involves Jeff requiring knee surgery and being forced to vacate the belts, and the other is that he's just "banged up," and may be able to work through it.
Sources close to Hardy claim that while he's injured, it's hoped that the problem "isn't too bad" and that Jeff is just playing it safe at the moment. Still, it'd be a shame to see him and Matt robbed of their first title reign in two years.
