Cody Rhodes cut a sensational promo on Raw... after THIS happened.
Cody Rhodes' first Raw appearance in the best part of a decade was almost a complete home run last night, with the WWE returnee cutting an emotional promo on coming back to the promotion, leaving AEW, and his father, Dusty Rhodes, for whom he has vowed to win a world championship.
The promo has drawn near-universal acclaim following on from Rhodes' electrifying WrestleMania 38 return. Seth Rollins, whom Cody defeated on Saturday night, joined him in the ring to close the Raw segment, accepting a handshake after brief deliberation.
So yes, almost a complete home run - thanks to the unfortunate production error as 'The American Nightmare' was making his entrance.
Downstait was playing through the arena, the crowd were getting fired up for Rhodes to come through the floor, and the cameras cut to the stage for his arrival. Unfortunately, either the angle was off or Cody's rising platform wasn't down low enough, as his head was clearly seen peeking up from down below.
Perhaps WWE's production crew needs to work on how to frame Cody's signature entrance for weekly television? Nonetheless, while funny, it was far from enough to sully an incredibly well-received segment, even if it detracted from the walk-down's grandiosity.
