How Reviving An Attitude Era Classic Would Make WWE WrestleMania 35 Unmissable
Ahead of the war to finally settle the score, Stone Cold Steve Austin dropped Triple H's beloved 'Billion Dollar Princess' Stephanie McMahon with a Stunner. In return, Hunter abused and assaulted Austin's best friend Jim Ross. By the time two finally came to blows in their encounter, the heat and hype reached WrestleMania-like proportions the month before the 'Show Of Shows'.
It was an inspired angle and not one that's been particularly well revisited since. There have been variations on the "no touching" policy, but they've been too poorly regulated and staffed to land half as well.
Ahead of WrestleMania, WWE finds itself in the enviable position of having three red hot stars that have well-drawn tension split evenly between them. As of writing, Ronda Rousey is Raw Women's Champion and the match certainly feels best booked with her as a target for conquerers Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, but how on earth do you build a grand meeting between the hated foes when they've already spent significant time kicking the sh*t out of each other to get to this point?
You force them to stop.
