How Vince McMahon Reacted To Randy Orton & Tommaso Ciampa's WWE Twitter Feud

The WWE Chairman & CEO isn't one for Twitter beef...

This week saw WWE wrestlers Randy Orton and Tommaso Ciampa go back and forth on Twitter after 'The Viper' poked fun at last Sunday's TakeOver: In Your House event, teasing NXT wrestlers for their #legslap-heavy style, before Ciampa clapped back by calling his opposite number's matches a great cure for insomnia. It got weird: even Randy's wife was wading in by the end.

Bryan Alvarez spoke about the matter on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Live, stating that people within the promotion had given him the impression that Vince McMahon wasn't best pleased about what went down.

Alvarez's colleague, Dave Meltzer, reported that the situation wasn't a work not long after it broke out, claiming WWE had no plans to book a match between Ciampa and Orton. Randy has since claimed that he'd be happy to wrestle the former NXT Champion if that's what his boss wanted him to do.

Though the beef has now stopped simmering, it'll be interesting to see if Ciampa is saving any ammo for Sunday, when Orton meets Edge in a match WWE is billing as "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever." An abundance of easy shots should be available if the Backlash clash doesn't meet WWE's impossible target.
