How WWE Can Finally Kill The Post-WrestleMania Curse

A lot was always riding on how Triple H handled this year's Road to WrestleMania 39, and rightly so.

If Papa H completely fumbled the lead-up to his first Show of Shows, faith in The Game leading the company into a brighter future - or at least one that didn't leave you wanting to experience Rey Mysterio's Horror Show at Extreme Rules fate - would have taken a monumental hit.

And while the one-time NXT leader has done a decent enough job of generating genuine buzz heading into Mania 39, in truth, the real test begins on April 3.

As much as the Royal Rumble or even the now-two-night spectacular itself, the signature post-WrestleMania slump has become such a consistent part of the WWE calendar that it's pretty much tradition at this stage.

Stop-start unexpected pushes, lazy and uninspired booking of top champs, and routinely excruciating treading of Sports Entertainment water, there's a reason increasingly few are interested in sticking around once the curtain closes on the Showcase of the Immortals.

Hell, just isolating last year's dodgy aftermath of a simply monumental WrestleMania double-whammy, how did WWE choose to capitalise on the hype surrounding Kevin Owens' high-profile war with "Stone Cold" and Roman Reigns becoming the Undisputed top dog in the company? By having KO bicker with Elias' younger brother and The Tribal Chief largely go missing, along with WWE's only world title straps. Marvellous.

Simply put, the cursed bar is set low enough for even the admittedly Inconsistent Assassin to soar over. So, first things first...
