The perception that Bruce Prichard is the driving force of WWE creative in 2020 is incorrect.

This is according to Dave Meltzer, who has a writeup on the situation in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that Ed Koskey, rather than Prichard, handles most RAW and SmackDown creative duties at the moment.

Prichard's primary responsibility isn't penning the storylines themselves, but "implementing and executing Vince McMahon's orders and making sure other departments are notified about plans" in order to keep merchandising, network partners, and promotional teams in the loop. This makes him sound like more of a coordinator than a straight-up writer.

On top of this, Prichard also deals directly with USA Network and FOX. Kevin Dunn helps in that regard and Nick Khan, WWE's new President and Chief Revenue Officer, may end up contributing as well.

Prichard currently serves as WWE's Executive Director of RAW and SmackDown. He was initially brought in for the SD position in the wake of Eric Bischoff's departure in October 2019, then inherited Paul Heyman's old role when the ex-ECW man was removed in June. Heyman now works solely as an on-air talent for WWE.
