Huge Attitude Era Segment Removed In Latest WWE Network/Peacock Update
Infamous Triple H Monday Night Raw skit doesn't make the grade, but which one?
D-Generation X's 1998 parody of the Nation Of Domination has been provisionally removed from the WWE Network archives, as Peacock executives continue to comb through the hours of content involved in the changeover.
In a report by WrestlingInc, it was confirmed that the skit had been axed from a SummerSlam 1998 video package setting up The Rock's Intercontinental Championship match with Triple H. For the three people that haven't seen the skit, it features the individual members of DX impersonating members of the Nation Of Domination. All, with the exception of Jason Sensation as Owen Hart obviously, are in blackface.
The story notes that the full July 8th episode itself has not yet moved to the new platform, but it's safe to assume that cuts made here will extend to the original full airing.
Peacock has made clear the intent to go through all 17,000 of existing content on the Network, with its own in-house guidelines evidently stricter than WWE's own. Vince McMahon using the N-word at Survivor Series 2005 and Roddy Piper painting half of his body black for a WrestleMania VI bout with Bad News Brown were two of the more prominent early omissions.
