Matt Riddle might be one of the most carefree characters in pro-wrestling history, but it sounds like NXT's 'Original Bro' has plenty to worry about at the moment.

Last weekend's Royal Rumble pay-per-view saw Riddle get involved in a heated backstage confrontation with Brock Lesnar stemming from Matt calling the WWE Champion out on social media and in interviews. Now, it's being reported that the former UFC fighter has considerable backstage heat in the promotion, which may have existed before the Lesnar incident even went down.

This is according to Dave Meltzer who, on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, stated that while he wasn't aware of any issues with Riddle's attitude, the 'Bro' has attracted a degree of backstage animosity in WWE - which may explain his abrupt Royal Rumble elimination.

Baron Corbin threw Matt out of the match after just 40 seconds. Per Meltzer, this was more than an attempt at getting heat for Corbin by eliminating a fan favourite, with management seemingly out to teach Riddle a lesson.

A disheartening report, as Riddle is a multi-tool player with loads of potential and could be a money-drawing star on Raw or SmackDown. Regardless, you don't mess with Brock Lesnar. You never mess with Brock Lesnar.
