Huge First-Time Singles Match Planned For SummerSlam 2026 (WWE News)
A massive women's division match could be set to rock Minneapolis at SummerSlam.
WWE bosses fancy booking Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill at SummerSlam 2026 in early-August, according to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select. The pair have been booked in several staredown spots since Cargill arrived in the company several years ago, but they've never actually gone 1v1.
That could be set to change in Minneapolis across 1-2 August.
WrestleVotes/Fightful noted that the bout "has been pitched internally", and "was penciled in for the event" at one stage. The trail seemed to go cold due to the fact that Jade lost her Women's Title to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42, but there's a chance Triple H and his creative team could stick the match on PLE anyway.
This wasn't included in Fightful Select's write up, but Cargill seems to be gunning for Tiffany Stratton's Women's United States Title. So, that'd surely be up for grabs should she win there. Or, maybe Jade vs. Charlotte is enough of a draw without any belts on the line.
Back to WrestleVotes/Fightful. They say "that WWE creative has been waiting for the right time and stage to present this first-time matchup", and those behind the scenes view SummerSlam as "the ideal setting" to make it reality.
Of course, Flair has largely been seen in the tag-team division since last year. Her double act with Alexa Bliss has been popular, but it might be time for Charlotte to get back to basics. Meanwhile, Jade has been backed by Michin and B-FAB in a retelling of her Baddies group from the old AEW days.
