It looks like Dolph Ziggler's constant shots at Bill Goldberg are about to pay off, as it seems as though the 'Show-Off' will now face the former WCW Champion, not The Miz, at SummerSlam next Sunday (11 August).

This is according to Dave Meltzer in the new Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Having previously reported that the announced Ziggler vs. Miz match was a "red herring" that wouldn't actually happen, Meltzer has today followed-up by claiming that Dolph's constant disrespect will now lead to Goldberg whipping him in into shape at SummerSlam.

Per the report, the idea is that the locker-room is against Ziggler after his bristly comments towards Goldberg, Shawn Michaels, and Mick Foley, so Bill is coming in as a "John Wayne/badass old man movie character" to take care of him.

This means that Ziggler is almost certainly getting squashed. That won't sit well with many fans, but a quick squash would at least help another disaster like Super Show-Down, where a concussed Goldberg wrestled one of the year's most shambolic matches with The Undertaker.

Here's hoping Goldberg can rebound like 'The Deadman' did in that awesome Extreme Rules tag, performance-wise.
