This highly anticipated match will air on Friday, February 26, with both the 19 and 26 of February editions of NJPW Strong being dedicated to New Beginning USA. The February 19 show will see El Phantasmo battling Lio Rush in the main event.

Moxley's return to NJPW went down on Friday's edition of Lion's Break: Contender on Strong as the former AEW World Champion arrived on the scene and quickly targeted IWGP US Heavyweight Challenger KENTA. The AEW star is set to reveal his thoughts on the upcoming match on next Friday's Road to The New Beginning USA episode of Strong.

Mox has held the IWGP US gold since January of 2020, winning the belt at Wrestle Kingdom 14. Yet, he hasn't been able to wrestle for the promotion since February due to the ongoing global health crisis.

Now NJPW are promoting this long-awaited showdown as "the most anticipated match in professional wrestling", and it's hard to argue with that summary based on the reaction to Mox's sudden re-emergence in the company alone.
