HUGE Names Backstage At AEW Dynamite - Comebacks Imminent?!
Finally, some real, positive movement on the long-running AEW suspension saga...
Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Don Callis were all backstage at last night's AEW Dynamite taping in Norfolk, Virginia.
Fightful Select reported as much on Wednesday. While The Elite didn't end up appearing on the show in the flesh, each of the aforementioned names featured in a video package early on, showing them disappearing from view during a string of highlights, their voices drifting into the ether along with their physical presence. It was as if they'd been Thanos snapped - and the AEW logo drifted away with them afterwards.
Fightful reported, too, that talk of Kenny and The Bucks returning to work has been doing the rounds backstage, with one source expecting them back in the company "imminently." Whether or not they were working in a backstage capacity last night is currently unclear.
Similarly, there is no word on when, exactly, The Elite will be back on AEW television at the moment. Nonetheless, many will take last night's vignette as a sign they are coming soon - and understandably so.
Omega and The Bucks have been suspended since All Out 2022 (4 September), where they are reported to have brawled with CM Punk and Ace Steel after the former's incendiary comments at the post-show press scrum.
