Huge Record SMASHED At AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2023
Forbidden Door 2023 is already one of the most successful AEW shows ever.
AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 is already one of the most successful shows in AEW history, with last night's pay-per-view drawing the biggest live gate in company history.
Company founder and CEO Tony Khan confirmed as much during the broadcast, tweeting that Forbidden Door had pulled a gate of $1.2 million in Toronto, Ontario, Canada:-
Tonight #ForbiddenDoor in Toronto is officially the biggest live gate in @AEW history at about$1.2 million (USD), and it's one of the top 3 biggest live gates in the history of pro wrestling in Canada!

AEW announced a total attendance of 14,826 for Forbidden Door 2023. Wrestle Tix reports that 13,631 tickets were distributed for the supercard.
Forbidden Door 2023's status as the highest-grossing AEW show in history will not stand for long, however. The company has already shifted over 65,000 tickets for Sunday, 27 August's All In event at London's Wembley Stadium, the gate of which will greatly eclipse Forbidden Door.
Speaking during the post-show media scrum, Khan stated that Forbidden Door 2023 had drawn more buys than last year's event and Double Or Nothing 2023, which hit Las Vegas, Nevada in May. Forbidden Door 2022 pulled an estimated 140,000 buys on 26 June 2022, while Double Or Nothing 2023 is understood to have hit a similar mark - per the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer.
