Powerhouse Hobbs became new TNT Champion in the main event of last night's AEW Dynamite.

The former Team Taz man defeated Wardlow in a Falls Count Anywhere after QT Marshall interfered with a steel chair, allowing Hobbs to powerbomb him through the stage (crash mats) for a decisive if anti-climatic title change.

Excalibur rushed to remind viewers of a long-forgotten agreement between the two that QT one day "owed" Hobbs one, with this plan apparently acting as payment and the start of a union between the former Factory boss and the new Champion.

The contest's stipulations were changed to Falls Count Anywhere after Wardlow admitted he was lacking his gear (and the belt itself!) after his car was broken into 24 hours earlier. The two brawled around the building before ending up on the stage where the finish occurred.

'The War Dog' had only been the Champion three days, having defeated Samoa Joe at Revolution on Sunday. It kicked off his second reign after his first was ended by 'The Samoan Submission Machine' in a three way dance at Full Gear that also featured Hobbs.
