Hulk Hogan has been on WWE's blacklist since his racist comments scandal broke in June 2015, but it look like his persona non grata status is about to be rescinded.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer has stated that Hogan is expected to return to the company "sooner than later," and it looks like WWE could bring him back in time for WrestleMania 33.

WWE teased Hogan's return by discussing his situation on the first episode of the Network-only Bring It To The Table in January, and the two sides were reportedly discussing a return late last year. On top of this, Irish betting company Paddy Power added fuel to the fire by cutting odds of Hogan appearing at WrestleMania to 1/3 last week.

The company terminated their contract with Hogan following the scandal, stating that they are "committed to embracing and celebrating individuals from all backgrounds." Hogan's public backlash has faded since winning reaching a £31 million settlement in his lawsuit with Gawker, however, and his relationship with WWE has clearly improved.

The timing looks right for Hogan's return, and it'd continue the trend of WWE relying on older names to carry the company. WWE fans can likely expect to see him very, very soon.
