Swerve Strickland's new stable, Mogul Affiliates, debuted on last night's AEW Dynamite, laying Swerve's former tag team partner Keith Lee out in a segment that was supposed to be mediated by rapper Rick Ross.
Rather than keeping the peace, the Swerve-affiliated Ross ended up doing running commentary on a three-on-one beatdown of Lee. Assaulted first by Parker Boudreaux, formerly of Ari Daivari's Trustbusters group, Keith was later laid out by an unknown debutant with braided hair and a tattooed face.
Along with Boudreaux, the newcomer helped restain Lee while Swerive double-stomped a cinderblock onto his former partner's chest while he was trapped on the ring steps.
Fightful Select reports that the newcomer is 30-year-old Granden Goetzman, who stands at 6'4". Goetzman has been training for his AEW debut for a while, and was actually a second-round draft pick for the MLB's Tampa Bay Rays in 2011. He ended up in various baseball farm systems until 2019, though he didn't make it to the major leagues.
Goetzman, known for his speed throughout his baseball career, has been training under Jay Lethal at the former ROH Champion's school. His debut had been planned for at least a couple of weeks before it ended up happening.
