Last night's IMPACT Wrestling Rebellion 2021 pay-per-view looks like it'll be the company's most-watched pay-per-view in some time.

Dave Meltzer reported in yesterday's Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online daily update that the show's advanced orders were "ahead of any IMPACT show in a long time." His colleague, Bryan Alvarez, followed up with a similar claim:-

This likely has much to do with Kenny Omega, the AEW World Champion, who faced IMPACT Champion Rich Swann in the main event. Both belts were on the line as the IMPACT vs. AEW storyline reached its apex, with Omega making history by felling Swann in a well-received bout pulsing with drama.

IMPACT, Omega, and Swann did well to build the program over the past few weeks, particularly in their lengthy, sport-like press conference. Omega's IMPACT appearances have helped boost the promotion's weekly P18-49 numbers since his December 2020 arrival.

A concrete pay-per-view number likely won't emerge until later in the week. It's clear to anyone following the buzz, however, that this was a more hyped show than anything IMPACT has produced over the past couple of years, potentially drawing new eyes to the product.
