The cause and circumstances of Berkland's death are yet to be disclosed. While all deaths are tragic, his is particularly distressing, as this news comes less than two months following the passing of Grant's wife, Brianne, who suffered fatal heart failure on 4 April.

Berkland's wrestling career began in 2005, when he featured in a student battle royal at CZW's Tournament of Death 4 that July. He'd become a major figure on that circuit over the next decade-plus and though he announced his retirement in summer 2017, Havoc re-emerged for GCW's Japanese tour this past February, working his final match for the promotion at the Run Rickey Run event in New Jersey on the 15th of the month.

Tributes are currently pouring in from all corners of the wrestling universe, with this thread from WWE's Drew Gulak particularly notable in outlining the kind of human Berkland was.

WhatCulture.com sends our deepest thoughts and condolences to Berkland's family and friends.
