Is Ex-WWE Star Zack Ryder About To Start His Own Promotion?
Recent trademark attempts are telling.
WrestleZone reports that former WWE star Matt Cardona (Zack Ryder) has filed for several trademarks over the past week or so.
Both copyright bids relate to his 'Major Wrestling Figure' podcast with old pal Brian Myers (Curt Hawkins) - the pair have kept their pod going since leaving WWE, and show no signs of slowing down.
Along with his attempt to trademark 'MWF', Cardona has also pitched to own 'Major Wrestling Federation'. That...sounds an awful lot like he's planning to start up his own pro wrestling company in the near future. What else could it be?
The full filing is as follows:
"G & S: Bandanas; Hats; Pants; Shirts; Sweatshirts; Hooded sweatshirts. G & S: Entertainment services, namely, providing podcasts in the field of action figures and professional wrestling; Entertainment services, namely, providing video podcasts in the field of action figures and professional wrestling; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network."
It's possible that Cardona's 'Major Wrestling Federation' could be a fantasy promotion that ties in with his podcast. However, the wording suggests that he might want to throw his hat into the promoter ring for real.
Interesting.
