Interviewed by the New York Post, Khan praised Windham Rotunda and his talent, saying that he'd like to talk to him when the timing is right:-

"Yeah. I really like Windham (Rotunda). I know him a little bit and I really enjoy him. The last time I saw him was at Chris Jericho’s birthday party and that was a long time ago. I like him as a person very much and he’s a really talented person. At the right time and place, sure I’d be interested to talk to him. I’m interested to talk to him in general because he’s a great person."

This comes days after Khan's interview with WFAN's Moose & Maggie, which saw the AEW chief state that he hadn't yet spoken with Rotunda about the prospect of joining his company's roster. "You never know," he signed off, keeping the possibility of doing so open.

Rotunda is currently bound by a 90-day non-compete clause following his WWE release on 31 July. This prevents him not only from appearing or signing for another company until 29 October, but entering negotiations too, as wrestlers are still technically under WWE contract during this period.

As well as AEW, Rotunda has been linked with IMPACT Wrestling since departing WWE.
