It's Official: WWE Just Made This Buried Star A JOBBER
Assessing one of Raw's most misused wrestlers after dismal WWE squash.
Candice LeRae wrestled her first WWE Raw singles match in three months last night - and jobbed out hard.
The former NXT Women's Title contender fared poorly in her enhancement role opposite Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley, who put LeRae away in 1:17. Although Candice was able to mount fleeting offence early in the match, her ascendant spell was short-lived, with Ripley turning the tide, applying a standing Cloverleaf, and scoring the submission victory, having barely broken a sweat.
Although LeRae is broadly considered one of the most talented wrestlers in her division, 2023 has seen her go on a rotten run of in-ring luck, having not won a Raw singles clash since defeating the un-pushed (at the time) Piper Niven in February. Recently, she has been just as likely to appear on D-show Main Event as she has Raw, notching two bouts on each in the past three months.
Like husband Johnny Gargano, who was also brought back to the company last year, LeRae has struggled for traction and a consistent push since returning to WWE in September.
Previously, she had left the company following her contract's May 2022 expiration, having taken time off during her pregnancy the previous September.
