Jacy Jayne Wins Knockouts Title, Trick Williams Retains At Slammiversary (TNA News)
TNA's top two titles are now in the hands of NXT talents.
With last night's TNA Slammiversary being one of the most anticipated events in the recent history of the Anthem promotion, it turned out to be quite the memorable night for TNA.
Of course, one of the hottest topics heading into Slammiversary was AJ Styles' return to TNA for the first time since 2013. On that front, the Phenomenal One came out to congratulate Leon Slater after the Brit had defeated Moose to finally become the X Division Champion. For Styles, he came out to his classic TNA theme, hyped up how great the TNA product is these days, and was serenaded by chants of "one more match".
Away from AJ, the main event saw Trick Williams retain the TNA World Title against Mike Santana and Joe Hendry, but the bigger talking point is likely Jacy Jayne becoming the new TNA Knockouts Champion after beating Masha Slamovich in a winner-takes-all match that also had Jacy's NXT Women's Championship on the line. That means that the top prizes of the men's and women's divisions of TNA are now in the hands of NXT talents.
Elsewhere, the TNA Tag Team Titles changed hands, with the Hardys regaining those belts in a four-way ladder match against the Rascalz, First Class, and now-former-champs the Nemeths. With all of the ladders broken, Jeff Hardy managed to call down for a rope ladder to be dropped from the ceiling, leading to one of the most creative finishes in ladder match history as the Charismatic Enigma climbed up to take home the gold. Interestingly, that was followed by Bully Ray challenging the Hardys to face him and D-Von Dudley for one final match between these long-time rivals.
Where the other Slammiversary title match is concerned, the Elegance Brand retained the Knockouts Tag Team Titles against the IInspiration on the event's pre-show. In other matches, Mustafa Ali defeated Cedric Alexander; Indi Hartwell got the win over Tessa Blanchard, with Tessa getting suspended post-match for attacking Indi and Gia Miller; Matt Cardona and the System beat NXT's DarkState; the Home Town Man (Cody Deaner) get the better of Eric Young on the pre-show; and that pre-show was rounded out by Real1, Zilla Fatu, and Josh Bishop getting the W over Steve Maclin, Jake Something, and ol' Mance Warner.
On an additional note, TNA Slammiversary 2025 also set an attendance record for the biggest crowd ever for a TNA event in North America, with 7,623 fans at Long Island's UBS Arena last night.
