JBL Set For WWE Hall Of Fame 2020?
All signs point towards JBL joining the class of 2020.
John Bradshaw Layfield could be on the verge of becoming the latest wrestler to be announced for the WWE Hall of Fame's class of 2020.
This is according to a new report from Wrestling Inc. and backed up by PWInsider, who are reporting that JBL, along with Santino Marella and Hornswoggle, is currently booked to do something for the company over WrestleMania 36 weekend in Tampa, Florida.
A quick glance at JBL's WWE résumé shows the case for his Hall of Fame induction. As well as holding the Intercontinental, United States, European, Hardcore, and Tag Team Championships, he was WWE Champion for 280 days after ditching his old APA gimmick for the JBL character, reinventing himself as a Ruthless Aggression main-eventer in the process. Retirement saw him slide into a commentary gig for several years before leaving the business entirely, though it's widely reported that he has always maintained a great relationship with Vince McMahon.
JBL's induction wouldn't be without its controversies though, given the many, many allegations of backstage bullying that complicate his legacy.
Batista and the New World Order are the only confirmed class of 2020 members so far, though it's thought that they'll be joined by the British Bulldog, Jushin 'Thunder' Liger, and the Bella Twins.
