Jesse Ventura To Run For Vice President?
The former Governor of Minnesota talks Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump.
New York Daily News, it sounds like a different figure has garnered Ventura's interest: Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. In regards to the current Vermont senator (Sanders), Ventura told the NY Daily news, "Would I run with Bernie? Sure, Id give him consideration." Ventura went on to talk about how he believes Sanders is the candidate most likely to bring American troops home from the Middle East. Ventura is a former member of the United States Navy and considers this as one of his top priorities. The biggest qualm that Ventura has with Trump stems from Trump's much maligned immigration policy, consisting of building a wall along the entire U.S./Mexico border and deporting all 11 million illegal immigrants currently in the United States.
There has been some talk making the rounds of late pertaining to Jesse Ventura returning to politics. However, the question always comes up as to who the longtime independent would align himself with in today's very divided two party system in the United States. Ventura, the former Governor of Minnesota, had previously mentioned that Donald Trump was a candidate that interested him. Ventura has known the current candidate for the Republican nomination for over 25 years, going back to the days of Trump hosting WrestleMania IV and V at his hotel and casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. However, in a new interview with theI oppose Trumps immigrant policy vehemently." If you want to make a trade, Ill make a trade off. Id build a wall on the Mexican border. But in order to not make it racist, youd have to build one on the Canadian border too. If you want to make the country like East Berlin, Lets make it East Berlin.Despite all of this, Ventura does not completely dismay the possibility of a Trump/Ventura ticket. He told the NY Daily News that he would at least consider the option if Trump came calling, mostly out of respect for their longtime friendship.
