Jim Ross: Brock Lesnar Didn't Want To Break The Undertaker's Streak
Vince McMahon's call but Lesnar didn't agree with it.
WrestlingInc noted that both Michaels and Ross said they weren't fans of the decision to have The Undertaker lose. As has been reported for over a year, it was a Vince McMahon call that people were only told about a few hours before the match took place in 2014. Ross is obviously very close to Lesnar's on air advocate Paul Heyman and also has a friendship with Lesnar, so he's as good of a source as anybody to share the news. Ross could have written something about it on his own website, but he likely chose to share the info at the Q&A because it's better to share that sort of thing in front of a live audience. Most people thought The Streak would live on forever as one of the most important milestones in wrestling history, but McMahon thought otherwise. McMahon booked Lesnar to win because he wanted to give him a run as a dominant WWE Champion, which is what happened at SummerSlam 2014 and led to Lesnar defending the WWE Title at WrestleMania 31.
