Jim Ross Signs 2-Year WWE Deal
Good Ol' JR is back.
Jim Ross returned to the WWE commentary booth at WrestleMania 33 to call what appears to be the final match of The Undertaker's long career. What was thought to be a one-time deal has now turned into an extended gig.
JR revealed in an interview with FOX Sports that he has signed a new two-year deal to return to WWE; a contract that calls for him to fulfil various roles for the company:
“It has a specific number of dates that I’m obligated to work, which I think is good for me. So look at it this way: I got my jersey back. I got brought back to my home team, and my opportunities back in WWE, I’m sure, will be multi-fold.”

While he won’t be taking on full-time booth duties and the specific details of the deal remain vague, we can expect to hear JR behind the microphone several more times for WWE in the coming years.
He will also be an invaluable resource for the talent down in NXT, passing on his wealth of experience and knowledge to the future generation of wrestlers.
“I hope to have more ‘fun part’ assignments in the future, but I’ve got my jersey back. So if the team needs me to play, to work more than they anticipated because they need it, I’m in.”
