Joey Ryan Likely Done With Impact Wrestling Following Abuse Allegations
It's unlikely that Impact will use Ryan going forward.
A new report from PWInsider states that Impact Wrestling is unlikely to use Joey Ryan going forward. This comes on the back of multiple abuse allegations levied against the 40-year-old, whose name has been brought up repeatedly through the #SpeakingOut movement.
Impact is yet to release an official statement on Ryan's status but has said the following on the situation in general:-
"It is a core value of the Anthem organization that we conduct our business with respect and integrity, providing a safe and secure work environment for our employees and performers."
Yesterday saw Ryan use his Twitter account to respond to the accusations of sexual misconduct. This came in the wake of former With Spandex editor, Danielle Matheson, alleging Ryan abused her in 2019, joining Connie Mink, a fan by the name of Marky, and more. Further stories have since come to light, however, and Joey has deleted his personal Twitter page as well as the one used for his independent promotion, Bar Wrestling. His and Bar's Facebook accounts are also gone.
Ryan had been with Impact since October 2019, signing with the promotion following an appearance at the Bound for Glory pay-per-view.
