John Cena And AJ Styles To Face Off In Tag Match At WWE Battleground 2016
Cena/Styles II will have to wait a few more weeks.
Following AJ Styles' victory over John Cena last month at Money In The Bank, it was assumed that the pair would continue their rivalry this month at Battleground. However, WWE has decided to put off the next singles match between Styles/Cena for a little while and let the pair first engage in a tag team match.
It was revealed during RAW that Cena will team with Enzo Amore and Big Cass to take on AJ Styles and The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) at Battleground. The story makes logical sense, given the fact that it was interference from The Club which allowed Styles to gain the victory over Cena at Money In The Bank.
The involvement in the storyline from Enzo and Cass came about during an in-ring segment on Monday's show. Cena called out The Club, talking about how he hasn't yet got to see who the better man is between he and Styles because of the involvement of Styles' teammates.
The Club proceeded to talk about how Cena ruined their return to Japan over the weekend, and then they started to talk about how all they went to do in the coming months is beat up John Cena. They eventually all got in the ring and attacked Cena, but Enzo and Cass ran down to make the save.

The tag team match for Battleground between The Club and Cena, Cass, and Enzo was then announced immediately prior to RAW's main event.
