John Cena Makes Shock Appearance At WWE Money In The Bank 2023
And he's here to promote... a London WrestleMania?
John Cena made a shocking return to WWE at Money in the Bank, stunning the London crowd with a completely unexpected appearance at Saturday's PLE.
Last seen on WWE programming losing to Austin Theory in an underwhelming United States Championship match, Cena seemed to be on a mission to play to the London fans and ultimately ask if they'd like to have a WrestleMania in their city. Naturally, they agreed.
It's no small wonder why WWE sent Cena out there to speak the idea of a UK-based 'Mania into existence, with AEW's All In taking place at Wembley Stadium next month.

But the sucking up quickly gave way to Grayson Waller, who interrupted and took some swipes at Cena before suggesting that an overseas WrestleMania should take place in Australia. This earned him a "w**ker" chant from fans before Waller ran afoul of Cena, earning himself an Attitude Adjustment.
The entire appearance was a bit baffling, that Cena was sent out to placate fans and strongly hint that WWE could someday bring its biggest PLE of the year to England, and then beat up a promising midcarder. If it leads to a feud with Waller, that could actually be entertaining, as Grayson is pretty good on the mic and has the charisma that Theory lacks.
Otherwise, this was just a nice treat for the fans in attendance.
